My baby is 5 months old!

How does that even happen? It seriously feels like Hailey was just born and she's just hit the 5 month mark... that's almost half a year!

HAPPY 5 MONTHS TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL I KNOW!

At 5 months Hailey is pushing 20lbs... at her last doctor's appointment se was 27" long, she's sleeping through the night, eating cereal w/ fruit and veggies, just starting to sit up on her own... still working on the balance a little, but she's doing great.

Yesterday we went to Walmart (Boooooooo!) and we saw a guy that Daddy did some work for in the past. He saw Hailey and went on and on about what a pretty girl she is (thank you!!!!!) and he says "How old is she? A year?". Nope... our baby isn't even half a year yet but she is a little giant! She's definitely going to be ready for a big girl car seat sooner than later.

That's about all I've got for now... I will try to have something interesting for you over the next couple weeks. No promises =) Hopefully more pictures if nothing else!

Foster Turns 5!

Hailey’s cousin, Foster, had his 5th birthday party this weekend!

Hailey started off strong in the morning… she was in a good mood, happy baby, seemed to feel fine. Later was another story. Poor girl fell asleep on the way to the party and when she woke up mommy fed her and from then on she was spitting up like CRAZY… literally like never before and pretty fussy. My poor baby was not a happy camper. I felt really bad because she had a lot of people looking forward to seeing and meeting her.
The calm before the storm =)

And it begins…

The good news is, everyone had an awesome time! There was great food, family, drinks, a jump house… what’s not to like?

I would say Foster’s birthday was a “great success”!

My baby is 4 months old!

Good morning... No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth! LOL I am still here. Today I decided to skip the gym and play on the computer... something I don't get to do much anymore. Hailey is still passed out (I think), as is Daddy (because it's only 4:45am!), it's rainy and nasty outside and I know I will be kicking myself for skipping my run later but right now it feels so right =))

Sooo, what's new? My kid is 4 months old! How did this happen? I don't even know where the time has gone. She is growing up WAY too fast!

Since I have been back at work (boooooo) Hailey has been spending her days at my aunt's house. She's doing really good. Mommy may spoil her a little to much by holding her and smothering her with my attention when she is home, so some days she gives her auntie a run for her money. Other than that she is really good... my little social butterfly. She LOVES the other kids and that makes mommy very happy!

At 4 months old our girl weighs 16lbs 12oz and has grown to 27.5" long! She's a little giant. She's in the 95th percentile in height and weight.

We have suspected some teething for the last month or two but the pediatrician confirmed it at her 4 month appointment. Thank you Baby Orojel for helping us through the tough times =) Poor baby, I know that those teeth coming up probably hurt SO bad. She's been a really good sport. The pain seems to bother her most when she's tired and on the verge of sleep (which she fights!). The minute after I apply the Orojel she slowly lets her self drift off to sleep.

Other than that, the doc says she's right on track developmentally.  She's not quite rolling over yet, but I imagine she is going to have some abs of steel pretty soon. She's always trying to sit herself up from laying on her back. She's almost sitting up by herself. Still a little wobbly but getting stronger every day.

We tried feeding her cereal again a couple of days ago. She did better than the first time around but she still wasn't sure about it. I've been putting a little bit of the rice cereal in her bottle before I put her to bed and we have been getting a full nights sleep again =) I think her belly is ready for that little bit of extra food. She can only hold so much formula! We will keep trying with the cereal and keep ya posted.

Here are a few pics I've taken since the last post

I tried to do a little "photo shoot" myself... it didn't work out but I'm gonna keep trying! My model was amazing =)

HAPPY BABY!

Awww Roxy still gets some love

Look how sad poor Daisy is these days... she was so used to being the baby!

The cereal...

She's not having it, yet!

And just for fun...
He he... eyes wide open!

A little update

I’m back with another random blog post! I really should start posting regularly or at least do a monthly post about Hailey and how she’s growing/developing, but anything is better than nothing, right? =)

I think (not really feeling like going back and checking) I have mentioned that Hailey can EAT! She is up to 6oz every 3 hours or so and growing like a weed!

Sometimes after her 6oz bottle she still seems hungry, so I decided to give rice cereal a try. They say to try around 6 months, but she’s my kid and I figured if she wasn’t into it, we could try again later.

Well… she didn’t seem too excited about it! LOL

See below

Going in...

???

Coming out...

Not so much.

She made some strange faces and spit most of it out. She wasn’t quite ready yet, but I think I will try again in a week or so. She’s just starting to become interested or curious in “real” food.

Hailey has also had another “first” in the past week. She got her first COLD! Boooo! Luckily it hasn’t gotten too bad. Just a runny nose, some sneezing and a tiny little cough. Hopefully it goes away soon and on its own. I thought that when she got sick (and I am sure it will happen eventually) she would be super fussy and not want to sleep. Thankfully she has been in good spirits. The only thing that it has really affected is that she hasn’t been sleeping through the night like she usually does. She wakes up between 1 and 3am. I’m hoping that goes away w/ the cold =) Could be much worse, I’m not complaining!

With this cold, we have also discovered Hailey’s hatred for the booger sucker and us getting the boogs out of her nose! Poor kid. It has to be done, but she is NOT happy about it. My girl’s gotta breath!

Ohhhh almost forgot, Hailey had ANOTHER first last weekend.

She met her new friend Kaleb (our friends Keith and Alicia’s 6 month old little boy).
Yes... Hailey is a giant next to this 6 month old little cutie. I'm telling you... GROWING LIKE A WEED!

And the award for worst blogger goes to.......

ME!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been SUCH a crappy blogger lately. I keep promising I will try to be better, but honestly I’ve been so busy that by the time I get home I have NO desire to be on the computer.

Which leads me to……………

I’m back at work! That exclamation point might lead you to believe that I am happy to be back at work, but that’s not the case. I miss my girl SOOOOOOOOOO much! I have seen ever almost every single day at lunch (Except one day when daddy took her to see Grandpa and Grandma while he worked. It was just a little too far for me to make it on my lunch hour).

Here are a couple of pics from my first day back at work...

My days go by much faster now that I’m back at work. If Craig’s working, he or I pick Miss Hailey up from my aunts and go straight home. We try to get everything done within the first couple hours of being home. I like to unload and reload the dishwasher (baby needs clean bottles), unload and reload Hailey’s diaper bag, Daddy gives Hailey a bath (every other night), I get her ready for bed, there’s almost always some laundry to do, she eats/we eat, we take showers and we have the last couple hours of the night to relax. I would rather rush when I get home than rush before bed or spread all of the duties out until bed. No thanks. I need some time to unwind.

My days have been starting EARLY. I’ve made good in my promise to myself to get to the gym every morning before work. Normally that means waking up at 4:30 or 5 in the morning. Thankfully, I have the best husband EVER because if Hailey wakes up when I wake up or just before I need to leave, he gets up and feeds her and puts her back to sleep. What a guy =) I am so lucky.

The last couple mornings Hailey has gotten me up at 3:30 and 3:45. I change her and feed her and TRY to get her back to sleep and if I can’t, Daddy wakes up to take over =) So I can get to the gym.

The only reason Hailey has been waking up so early the last two days is bc we have fed her and put her to bed a little earlier than usual. Normally her last feeding is at 930 or 10 and we change her into her “snuggie” (snuggie = sleep sack) and she knows it’s bed time and has her longest sleep. Normally until 5, 6 or even 730! She’s such a good sleeper. It will work out best for us if we keep her last feeding as close to 10 as possible.

My girl’s sleeping all night! I am so happy! I hope it stays that way!

On to bigger and better things… yes, still about my kid!

HAILEY IS 3 MONTHS OLD!!! (well 3 mos and a few days) Holy moly! Why does time have to go by so fast? Before I know it she’s going to be out of this cuddly baby stage and into EVERYTHING =) Oh my gosh………

HAPPY 3 MONTHS HAILEY!

Who hasn't had a little spit up on their face on their "birthday"? LOL

Hailey is “talking” up a storm. Obviously not saying words we understand yet but she’s saying something and I love it. She smiles and squeals all the time.

Her favorite thing… looking at herself in the mirror. (Can you blame her? She’s freaking adorable!)We take her to see “the baby in the mirror” and she goes crazy.

She’s getting bigger every day. Already fitting into 6 month jammies. I realize that the sizes are just a rough guideline, but she seems so big. She’s very tall. She didn’t have a chance at being short =)

Oh… and the girl can EAT. We just bumped her up to 6oz every 3-4 hours.

Here are a few random pics from the last month or so. I't still working on getting her to look and SMILE but she knows that when she sees the camera a flash comes with it... she doens't like that!

Sitting on Roxy

Hailey started jumping in her Jump-a-roo at 11 weeks!

"Sleepy baby"

My happy girl! She loves the swing Auntie Jennifer gave her!

Hailey loves sleeing in her daddy's arm(s) =)

Being a baby is hard work!

Happy baby/Happy mommy

We went to visit daddy's BMX racing friend Brandon and his family. Emma wanted a picture with Daddy and Hailey!
(Daddy needs to learn how to fix Hailey's headband before pictures!! LOL)

That’s all I’ve got for you today! I’ll be back to update you more… sometime soon?!?!!
