Good morning! We have made it to 11 weeks! I know I say it every time but these weeks really do fly by! We are almost through the first trimester already. Some say the second trimester starts at 12 weeks and some say it starts at 14 weeks. 40 weeks divided by 3 is 13.3. I think I will go w/ 13! =) Right in the middle.
How your baby's growing:
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.
Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.
How your life's changing:
If you're like most women, you're feeling a bit more energetic now and your nausea may be starting to wane. Unfortunately, you may also be suffering from constipation (caused by hormonal changes, which can slow digestion) and heartburn (hormones again, relaxing the valve between your stomach and esophagus). Just remember, all this discomfort is for a good cause.
Don't worry if nausea has made it impossible for you to eat a wide variety of healthy foods or if you haven't put on much weight yet (most women gain just 2 to 5 pounds during the first trimester). Your appetite will likely return soon, and you'll start to gain about a pound a week.
Luckily, I never really had much nausea… just a little here or there. Thank goodness! Some days I feel like my energy levels are rising but some days I feel super lazy. So I am not really sure if there are any changes taking place there quite yet. The only change I can tell you for sure is that my pants are definitely tight in my belly! I am wearing my BeBand to work pretty much everyday! My jeans are still fitting comfortably which is nice. Might be time to buy some maternity pants soon for work though!
As you know, I work in a medical facility. My office is in the same building as our Radiology department. Yesterday I was cruising through the department delivering paychecks and the nice ladies asked if I wanted to see my baby. Um… OF COURSE I DO! LOL So we did a quick little ultrasound.
I would LOVE to post my pics BUT for some reason I can't upload them to Blogger. =( Blogger FAIL!
The ultrasound totally made my day! I got to see our little baby's heart beating away at around 163 bpm and he or she was moving around like crazy. That baby is doing flips already! So crazy that it's so small I can't feel it yet.
The lovely Radiology lady said that she can get me in at around 17-18 weeks and we might be able to see the gender! How exciting. I will have to get Craig here for that one =)

SO EXCITING!! EEP!
I hope when I get preggers I don't have much nausea. I AM NEVER sick, like EVER, i haven't even thrown up in like 8 years so I am such a baby when it comes to this stuff.
YAY Jamie!!
PS blogger was being super naughty the other day. I had to wait and retry hours later to add pics.
Seems to fly by at points and go as slow as a snail others.
Yay for 11 weeks!
