Our baby is 10 (and a half) months!

Ok, as you can tell by the title, this post is a little late! Oopsie! Better late than never, right?

I figured I better write this post before she's 11 months which is right around the corner.

At 10 months our girl is weighing in at 22lbs. She's been holding steady at that weight and getting tall! I am not sure of her exact height, but we have confirmed her weight a few times over the last couple of months because our poor baby has been sick and had to visit her doc a couple of times =(

Hailey isn't crawling yet, but sometimes I wonder if she will crawl at all. She's got her own way of getting around and has perfected it... she's lightning fast.

She doesn't try to pull herself up on our furniture, but she tries to (almost) stand from a sitting position... like this...

Hailey's got 6 teeth, two on the bottom and 4 on top! She LOVES to eat with those teeth. That kid can put away the food! She loves fruit, eggs, Cherrios, toast, cereal bars, veggies, chicken... the list goes on and on. She will not turn down food!

I had a hard time getting her to use her sippy cup. She didn't want water or juice out of it, so I tried formula and nothing worked. I tried different types of sippy cups, still no progress. Finally, one day she realized what all the hype was about! She had a nice mixture of juice and water and LOVED it. She's been hooked ever since! YAY!

I'm sure there is tons of stuff I am "supposed to" update everyone on every month, but I think this is enough. If you want to know anything, just ask!

VEGAS BABY! (Finally)

Ok, so I am a big time blog slacker, but we all know that! It’s just been so hard to make time to post the last couple of weeks. Work has been busy and We’ve been busy at home. When Hailey sleeps, mommy is doing stuff around the house and when she’s awake, there’s no time for blogging, that’s for sure.

(In my defense, I started this post awhile back and couldn't get my pictures to load... AND I have been unable to post from work on top of that. Not that I should be posting "on the job" but sometimes I will write my posts at home and post them from work because the pictures load much faster!)

Ok, on to the good stuff!

What’s this blog post about, you ask?

Well Craig’s grandma and Hailey’s beloved “GG” turned 80 and we made the LOOOOOONG drive to Henderson, NV which is a “hop, skip and a jump” from VEGAS BABY!

We drove 10 hours (yes, 10 HOURS) to Henderson to celebrate GG’s 80^th and spend some time with the fam. We had an amazing time. I’ve flown into Vegas twice, but I’ve been whisked away upon arrival to Grandma and Grandpa’s and/or Dumont Dunes. This time I was bound and determined to actually SEE Vegas in between the festivities and family time! This was obviously Hailey’s first trip too… we (yes *we*) almost went last year, but that’s a whole other story!

We stayed at the Fiesta Hotel in Henderson, with the rest of the family. There was a pool, a Starbucks, a bar… what more could you want? Nice place for the price too!

It was a LONG trip for such a short time, but I have to say it was definitely worth it. We had so much fun spending time with the family that we don’t get to see as much as we would like.

Our girl is 9 months old!

YES this post is extremely overdue... better late than never!

Our baby girl is 9 months old! I am beside myself. That means 3 more months until her first birthday... WHAT?!?!?!

Hailey is moving along just fine... by "moving" I mean MOVING =) You can't really keep the kid in one spot anymore. She's not exactly crawling, more scooting on her butt and she gets up on her hands and feet and rocks back and forth. She's so ready to go!

The kid is talking up a storm... she's still saying daddy, dad, baba and she's added some new words like baby, keke, wikka wikka, etc. Still not giving up the MAMA very often. I think I have heard it about 3 times total. Come on Hailey!

She's got more teeth coming in. We thought she had just her two top teeth poking through and daddy realized that she had 4 top teeth coming! That makes 6 teeth total. I have to say, I am SO impressed with her and the whole teething thing. I have heard horror stories of poor babies being so miserable and I can totally relate, teeth coming in hurts BAD. Hailey has been a little fussy here or there but nothing that has even really made me think she was in any kind of pain.

Also, she thinks that since she has 6 teeth now she can shovel whatever she wants into her mouth. LOL She's eating pretty much anything we eat and she hates eating things one at a time, she would rather stick it all in her mouth at once and chew later. We are working on that!

9 month stats?
Hailey is weighing in at 22lbs and is 30 1/2" long. She's growing like crazy. She's off the charts (so to speak) in those areas for her age.

The girl is definitely keeping us busier, which is to be expected. She's learning new things everyday. We are loving every minute. I am afraid that as soon as this whole crawling thing happens, life is going to change as we know it!

A special day!

Today is a very special day to me... Craig and I officially started dating 12 years ago today!

It's been an amazing 12 years full of ups and downs... thankfully MOSTLY UPS! =)

Now we have a new member of our little family to celebrate this day with!

A Surprise Camping Trip 4th of July Weekend

Normally people don't use the word "surprise" when they talk about camping for the 4th of July, but our weekend camping trip was definitely a surprise!

Craig surprised me Friday after I got home from work with Hailey by pulling up in front of our house with the trailer. Hailey and I greeted him outside and he said he wanted take his girls away for the weekend, just the 3 of us. We ran inside and started packing. Well it was "packing" if you call "packing" throwing everything you can think of at the drop of a hat into the trailer and praying you didn't forget anything. That's just what we did.

We drove up to Little Grass Valley, which isn't too far from home for us. We kept our fingers crossed there were some camp sites available. We arrived at the campground where we have camped before to find ONE site available (there were some other sites available in the "first come first serve" campground, but we like the one you should reserve more). We got so lucky.

We pulled into the site, set up camp and relaxed all weekend with no real plan on whether we would leave Sunday or Monday.

We aren't the only ones that had a great time! The dogs don't "make the blog" as much as they used to, but they are doing just fine! SEE!

We decided (pretty much at the last minute) that we would stay 'til Monday and opted for the MAD RUSH to get home, unpacked, ready and make food to bring, get birthday gifts in time to get to my aunts 4th of July block party bash by 1pm. We were there a teeny bit after 1, but I have to say I am impressed by our making it there as soon as we did.

We got to my aunts and even though we were exhausted and it was 104 degrees, we partied as much as we (or Hailey and I could handle). It was super fun, but we ended up leaving just as the fireworks were getting started. It was such a long weekend.

I feel so bad now that I think about it. It was Hailey's first 4th of July and mommy didn't even do sparklers with her =( bad mommy!

But I did get some cute pics!

Happy 8 Months Hailey!

Our baby is 8 months old!

Hailey turned 8 months last week, I can hardly believe it. I know I say it everytime another month goes by, but seriously, time has NEVER gone so fast!

Hailey has two bottom teeth and is currently working on two up top. She's doing amazing. I rarely have to give her anything for the pain... She's a tough girl.

She's been sleeping through the night for months (thank goodness!!!), She rolls over from front to back. We are still working on back to front, but she HATES being on her tummy. She can pick up food and feed herself, she's talking up a storm... mostly dada, dad, baba and some other babble I can't really make out but she knows exactly what she's saying and that's all that matters, right? She's been sitting up by herself for a couple months now and is just starting to lunge forward for toys and things so I am wondering if crawling is on the horizon or if she will just be the kind of kid I hear about just pulling themselves up on furniture and walking from there.

I can't believe how much a baby changes in 8 months. Hailey is definitely her own little person. We love that kid more and more every day!
