Back to the Grind

Yep... you read that right. Monday is my first day back to work after the best 4 months of my life.

I went off work September 21st... KNOWING my baby was going to be early and I needed some time to relax and get a few things done around the house before she got here.

October 18th (my due date) rolled around and STILL no baby. Craig and I were getting extremely antzy and were ready to meet our little girl already.

October 26th (a week late) I was 1 week over due and ready to "get that baby out". Not because I had a miserable pregnancy but because I wanted to see who exactly was kicking/punching me from the inside for all these months.

Daddy was ready to meet his girl!

Just before we headed out the door

My induction, although everything went pretty smoothly, was quite an experience. An experience that ended up being the very best day of my life.

At 11:57pm we met the love of our lives...

Hailey Marie

The most beautiful baby I have ever laid eyes on.

(FYI... I am totally crying my eyes out right now. Those hormones must still be hanging around!)

The next week or two were a whirlwind of friends and family coming over to meet our new addition. Everyone was so great. People brought us food and gifts for Hailey. We were so happy that so many people were so eager to meet her and excited for us.

Today Hailey is almost 12 weeks old. I can't even tell you where the last 11 weeks have gone. I can tell you that they have been the best 11 weeks of my life... by far =)

I am SO bummed that I have to go back to work. Not because I don't like my job or the people I work with, but because I have to leave my baby girl every day. Thankfully my aunt will be watching her the majority of the time and I can spend lunch hours with her whenever I want.

It's time for me to go back to work and "bring home the bacon". I know Monday will be a sad day for me, but I am SOOOOO thankful to have gotten to spend the first couple of months of Hailey's life taking care of her and getting to know her. Obviously we will have nights and weekends to spend together and I will cherish those.

They grow up so fast!

I went back to work two weeks ago so I completely understand what you are feeling. I hope the transition goes smoothly for you & your beautiful little girl.
